What You'll Do:

  • Functional Lead
    • Act as a Team Lead for a variety of Categories which includes day-to-day management of the team’s workloads, prioritization, productivity, troubleshooting and issue resolutions, as well as new-hire onboarding and training
    • Seek efficiency gains and make recommendation on process improvements
    • Possess a high subject matter expertise for relevant Categories
    • Coach and mentor Buyers to enable them to successfully perform their function
    • Coordinate cross-training the team to increase overall effectiveness and flexibility
    • Review Buyer Category assignments and workloads and make recommendations to the Manager, Sourcing & Procurement for improvement
    • Support the Buyers to identify productivity improvement opportunities, remove barriers, facilitate cost savings and improve processes
    • Work with the Manager, Sourcing & Procurement to develop and execute sourcing opportunities, efficiencies and process improvements for assigned Categories
    • Lead sourcing opportunities for assigned Categories
  • Procurement
    • Review daily and weekly reports to determine requirements
    • Prepare and approve Purchase Orders, as required to meet requirements
    • Liaise closely with production teams to ensure requirements meet lead times and quality standards
    • Review and approve invoices
    • Identify, gather and analyze various spend data and manage spend database including spend value, pricing and volumes by supplier, by location, by product
    • Analyze trends and dynamics of supply markets including supplier capacity, identification and assessment of market risks, determination of trends and dynamics of market business environment
    • Provide input on future category price trends and implications
    • Identify and report on potential supply risks and opportunities
    • Evaluate challenges in meeting demand
    • Generate periodic reports and create presentations of analytical data pertaining to the category
    • Assure and maintain data integrity on all inputs
  • Inventory
    • Maintain & adjust inventory levels to ensure sufficient on-hand inventory to fulfill requirements
    • Participate in monthly inventory counting & posting process
    • Perform inventory cost review analysis
  • Negotiation
    • Lead negotiation of agreements and provide contractual and commercial expertise, support and guidance in the development and negotiation of agreements
    • Establish or refine agreement terms and conditions to meet business and risk needs
  • Relationship Management
    • Lead the supplier relationship management process through performance, reporting and governance model
    • Analyze supplier performance metrics, recommend improvement opportunities
    • Work with key suppliers and external parties to develop an understanding of the marketplace pertaining to the category
    • Drive continuous improvement and innovation with suppliers
    • Lead issue resolution activities
    • Effectively build relationships 

What You Bring to DIRTT: 

  • 8 – 10 years of supply chain experience
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain or Business or equivalent experience
  • Experience leading a team, formally or informally, with the ability to engage and inspire staff to succeed in a fast-paced, challenging environment
  • Exceptional with people, highly detailed in organizational and time management skills
  • Strong knowledge of all supply chain functions including procurement, inventory management, contract management and sourcing
  • The ability to lead and manage change
  • Proven negotiation and relationship building skills
  • Capacity to think logically and analytically to solve problems
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting, ideally in an intense working environment with tight deadlines
  • Possess excellent MS Office, and database skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work with daily/monthly deadlines and time constraints on an ongoing basis
