Canada rocked by bus crash that affects the hockey community

On April 6th, the Humboldt Broncos bus was on their way to a semifinals game when the junior ‘A’ hockey team’s bus collided with a semi-truck at a rural Saskatchewan intersection, killing 16 people – including 10 players – and injuring 13 others.

DIRTTbags came together to raise funds for all those affected by the Humboldt Broncos bus crash disaster. Fundraising events included a long shot hockey shootout and a donation jar.

In the span of 5 days, nearly $3000 had been donated by some very generous DIRTTbags. These funds were distributed amongst the families to help with a variety of things such as memorials and funerals, financial support, counselling and more. DIRTT is proud to have DIRTTbags and ICEcubes who were supportive of the families affected. We know it’s important to pull together when our community is suffering.

DIRTT also wanted to show our support by praising our first responders for their incredible efforts on that tragic day, and donated $3,000 to STARS Air Ambulance who played a crucial part in transporting the critically injured.
