A balance of efficiency and comfort
The intensive care unit (ICU) at King Fahad General hospital is balance of efficiency and comfort for patients and caregivers alike. Arabic patterns, calming hues, and landscape images adorn graphic wall panels throughout the hospital. They offer a welcoming, safe environment while improving infection prevention and control. The 32 patient rooms, four isolation rooms and four nurse’s stations all have integrated technology. That makes for easy access to digital tools and information. Switchable glass in charting stations means staff can monitor patients, while giving them privacy when they need it. Touchless sliding and swing ICU doors maximize available space. And speaking of efficiency, building out 29,000 square feet only took 100 days, from site entry to handover.
