Capilano University Centre for Student Success

As Capilano University was creating a new Centre for Student Success, they wanted to consolidate services from across the campus. Bringing everything together under one roof offered an efficient experience for new and returning students alike. Efficiency was also key when it came to constructing the space. With a five-month window to complete the renovations, Capilano University needed a way to build that fit their schedule.

Capilano University's architect, HDR, had worked with DIRTT before and knew how responsive and collaborative we could be. Using a technology-driven manufacturing process meant that DIRTT could deliver on schedule without any budget fluctuation. And precision wasn’t just limited to timelines and cost. Fit and finish were a key component to the Center for Student Success. An early look at the designs revealed a free-standing feature wall with a technology display. DIRTT Timber offered a custom solution that was more cost effective than the casework they had planned. A custom approach also accommodated structural beams that run floor to ceiling through student huddle rooms. Leveraging precision and efficiency to support their sustainability goals, Capilano University got a space that streamlines both the student experience and the construction process.
