How do you cut the schedule on a massive healthcare construction project by 30%? That was the question posed by a health system to a group of stakeholders when they began work on a new medical office building. There was a huge business case to be made for saving time and money on the build and getting into the market faster. But not just on this project. On all the subsequent builds they were undertaking across their health system.
To do that, the health system worked with a handful of like-minded partners to develop an easily replicated construction program. Relying on a standardized building plan and pre-manufactured construction, they set out to complete a typical 36-month build in 30 months or less.
