When Trammell Crow was updating their flagship building in the heart of Dallas, they wanted to make a mark. One of the ways they set themselves apart was by creating a piece of sculptural wall art in their tenant lounge. They wanted a way to divide the space without sacrificing the natural light. A series of 15-foot-long timber beams flowed like a wave offering separation of the space, while maintaining an airy feel. It also delivered on the building’s overall sense of grandeur.

This one-of-a-kind timber sculpture required collaboration. Together, the architect, the contractor, and the DIRTT partner ensured each of the 81 beams was placed precisely. After thoughtful planning, the veteran installation team fastened the verticals into place and used aircraft cable to suspend 70-pound beams from the ceiling. The end result? A beautiful timber feature that delivered on the design and gave the client exactly what they wanted.
