Updating the Dixon Recreation Center at Oregon State University (OSU) was all about balance. How to get a big impact with a small footprint. How to create a sense of connection while still maintaining privacy. How to serve students today with a space that can adapt over time. To help OSU achieve this, the architect recommended DIRTT.
Product Spotlight
Project Includes:
DIRTT glass walls frame offices and meeting rooms, maintaining visual connection and allowing the transmission of light. Glass sliding doors maximize the usable space and robust acoustic gaskets provide the necessary speech privacy. Custom color matching celebrates school spirit with OSU’s signature orange on wall panels and powder coated aluminum extrusions. And while these spaces have a huge impact on the way students use the building today, OSU knows the education landscape is prone to change. DIRTT’s layered modularity means if they need to convert to an open environment to serve their students, then this space is ready to easily adapt.
Whenever we're in a situation where we're adding small office spaces, we're always interested in looking at the DIRTT system for the sliding doors because, acoustically, we know they work.
